Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 8 cups apple cider Use half gallon for best results.
  • 2/3 cup Fireball whiskey This recipe is for adults 21+ only.
  • 1/3 cup caramel sauce Author uses caramel ice cream topping.
  • 3 sticks cinnamon sticks Cinnamon sticks add a clean flavor.
  • 2 apples sliced, seeds removed Choose firm apples like Honeycrisp or Gala.
Optional Garnishes
  • to taste extra caramel For drizzling over the top.
  • to taste cinnamon sugar For rimming the glasses.
  • to taste whipped cream For topping each serving.

Method

Preparation
  1. Pour the apple cider and Fireball whiskey into a slow cooker that holds at least 4 quarts.
  2. Add the caramel sauce, cinnamon sticks, and sliced apples. Stir well so the caramel starts to dissolve into the liquid.
Cooking
  1. Cover the slow cooker and cook the cider on HIGH for 2 hours or LOW for 4 hours.
  2. During that time, the flavors blend together and the cider becomes warm, rich, and fragrant.
Serving
  1. If you want a sweet rim, dip each glass into caramel first, then into cinnamon sugar.
  2. Ladle the cider into mugs or heat-safe glasses and serve it hot. Top each with whipped cream if desired.
Alternative Method
  1. If you do not want to use the slow cooker, simmer everything in a pot on low for 2 to 4 hours.
Storage
  1. If you have leftovers, pour them into airtight containers and refrigerate them.
  2. Reheat small portions on the stovetop or in the microwave as needed.

Notes

Choose firm apples that hold their shape well. Stovetop method is an option if the slow cooker is not available. Be cautious in serving as this drink contains alcohol.
