Ingredients

For the Crostini
  • 1 piece baguette (sliced) Use fresh baguette for best results.
  • 8 oz burrata cheese Ensure it's at room temperature before serving.
  • 6 pieces fresh figs (halved) Substitute with pears if figs aren't available.
  • 6 slices prosciutto Can substitute with smoked salmon for a lighter option.
  • 3 tbsp honey Drizzle just before serving to avoid sogginess.
  • to taste tbsp olive oil For brushing the baguette.
  • to taste sprigs fresh thyme Adds a nice flavor and garnish.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lay out the sliced baguette on a baking sheet and brush both sides lightly with olive oil.
  2. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and toast the baguette slices for about 8-10 minutes until golden brown and slightly crispy.
  3. While the bread toasts, take the burrata cheese out of the packaging, tear it into pieces with your hands, and let it warm slightly on a plate.
Assembly
  1. Once the baguette slices are toasted, remove them from the oven. On each slice, place a piece of torn burrata, followed by a half of a fig and a small slice of prosciutto.
  2. Drizzle each assembled crostini with honey and garnish with fresh thyme leaves.
Serving
  1. Serve the crostini immediately while still warm, and enjoy paired with a light Pinot Noir or sparkling wine.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Avoid freezing, as the fresh ingredients do not hold up well.
