Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup light brown sugar Use dark brown sugar for a deeper flavor.
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream Regular whipping cream can be used as a substitute.
  • ¼ cup salted butter Unsalted butter can be substituted with added salt to taste.
  • 1 cup toasted pecan pieces Pecans should be toasted for better flavor.

Method

Preparation
  1. If your pecans are not already toasted, toast them before making the sauce using a skillet, oven, or air fryer.
  2. Combine brown sugar, cream, and salted butter in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring often.
Cooking
  1. Bring the mixture to a boil while stirring.
  2. Once boiling, cook for about 4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Remove from heat, and stir in the toasted pecans.
Serving
  1. Serve the sauce warm or at room temperature over your favorite desserts.
  2. Store any leftovers in a covered container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.

Notes

Avoid cooking the sauce too long to prevent it from becoming overly thick or sticky. Stir in cream gradually if the sauce thickens too much upon cooling.
