Ingredients

For the Punch
  • 6 cups ice cubes Freeze maraschino cherries in ice cubes for a festive look.
  • 32 pieces maraschino cherries, stems removed Use bright red cherries for best appearance.
  • 1 bottle grenadine (12 oz) Provides the sweet red color and flavor.
  • 6 cups orange juice, no pulp, chilled For a refreshing citrus flavor.
  • 1 bottle lemon-lime soda (2 liter) Such as 7UP or Sprite, chilled.
  • 1 bottle ginger ale (2 liter) Chilled for added fizz.
  • to taste orange slices and extra maraschino cherries for garnish Optional for presentation.

Method

Preparation
  1. Freeze 1 maraschino cherry in each slot of 2 ice cube trays. Fill the trays with water and freeze for about 4 hours.
  2. Once the cubes are frozen, add them to a large punch bowl or dispenser, ensuring there is enough room for the liquid.
  3. Pour the grenadine over the ice, letting it sink and spread through the bowl.
  4. Slowly add the orange juice, lemon-lime soda, and ginger ale to the bowl, preserving the fizz.
  5. Stir gently to combine and garnish with orange slices and extra maraschino cherries.
  6. Ladle into glasses and serve immediately. For the adult version, add vodka or coconut rum per serving.

Notes

Store leftover punch in the fridge for up to 2 days, but the soda will lose its fizz. For best taste, mix juice base with soda right before serving. Freeze cherry ice cubes for up to 3 months.
