Ingredients

For the Fries
  • 4 large russet potatoes, cut into 1/4-inch fries Choose firm potatoes with smooth skin.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Can substitute with avocado or sunflower oil.
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt Or substitute with sea salt or garlic salt.
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
For the Garlic Butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
For Serving
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese Can be replaced with nutritional yeast for a dairy-free option.
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped Can substitute with fresh cilantro or basil.
  • Ranch dressing or marinara sauce, for dipping Try spicy sriracha mayo or honey mustard as alternatives.

Method

Preparation
  1. Place the cut fries in a large bowl filled with cold water. Let them soak for 30 minutes to remove excess starch.
  2. After soaking, drain the water and pat the fries completely dry with a clean kitchen towel or paper towels.
  3. In a large bowl, toss the dried fries with olive oil, kosher salt, and black pepper.
Cooking
  1. Preheat your air fryer to 380°F.
  2. Arrange the fries in a single layer inside the air fryer basket; avoid overcrowding.
  3. Air fry the fries for 12 minutes. Then, carefully shake or stir the basket and continue cooking for another 8 to 10 minutes until golden and crispy.
  4. While the fries are cooking, stir the minced garlic into the melted unsalted butter.
  5. Transfer the hot fries to a large bowl, pour the garlic butter over them, and toss well to coat every fry.
  6. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese on top and toss again to allow the cheese to melt slightly.
Serving
  1. Garnish the fries with chopped fresh parsley and serve immediately with your choice of dipping sauce.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer for best results.
