Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, combine 3 cups of chopped rhubarb, 3 cups of chopped apples, 1 cup of granulated sugar, and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. Toss to coat evenly and spread in the greased baking dish.
- In another bowl, combine 1 cup of rolled oats, 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup of brown sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon. Mix until there are no lumps.
- Cut in the 1/2 cup of cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Baking
- Sprinkle the oat topping evenly over the fruit mixture.
- Bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the fruits are bubbling.
Serving
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. This dessert can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days or frozen for 3 months.
