Cheese Ball Ingredients
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened Choose a brand with a smooth texture.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Can substitute with Monterey Jack or pepper jack.
  • 1/2 cup crumbled cooked bacon For a lighter option, use turkey or vegetarian bacon.
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped pickled jalapenos Fresh jalapenos can be used for milder flavor.
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions Chives can be used as a substitute.
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt Add to taste.
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts Optional for coating.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, finely chopped jalapenos, chopped green onions, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Using a spatula or a hand mixer, mix the ingredients until well combined. Ensure there are no lumps and everything is evenly distributed.
  3. Once mixed, form the mixture into a ball or a log shape with your hands.
  4. If using, roll the cheese ball in the chopped pecans or walnuts until fully coated.
  5. Wrap the formed cheese ball in plastic wrap tightly and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  6. Unwrap the cheese ball, place it on a serving platter, and serve with your choice of crackers or fresh vegetables.

Notes

Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Can freeze for up to 2 months. No need to reheat, but can let sit at room temperature prior to serving for a softer texture.
