Ingredients
Method
Make the Apple Filling
- In a small bowl, combine the finely diced apple with melted unsalted butter, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon. Toss gently to coat the apples evenly.
Prepare the Bread
- Using a rolling pin, flatten each slice of crustless bread until thin and pliable. Spoon about one tablespoon of the apple mixture along one edge of each slice and roll it up tightly.
Make the Egg Wash
- In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs, whole milk, vanilla extract, and remaining ground cinnamon.
Cook the Rolls
- Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Dip each roll into the egg wash and place seam-side down in the skillet. Cook for about 2 to 3 minutes per side until golden brown.
Finish with Sugar and Cinnamon
- Mix the remaining brown sugar with any leftover cinnamon and sprinkle over the warm rolls.
Serve and Enjoy
- Serve the baked apple cinnamon French toast rolls immediately with plenty of maple syrup for dipping.
Notes
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days in the refrigerator. Best reheated in the oven.
