Ingredients

For the Brie Filling
  • 1 wheel 8 oz Brie cheese Use fresh, firm Brie for best results.
  • 1 sheet puff pastry Thawed if frozen.
  • 1/3 cup fig jam Can be substituted with apple or pear preserves.
  • 1/4 cup walnuts, chopped Can be substituted with pecans or almonds.
  • 1 large egg, beaten For egg wash; can use a plant-based alternative for vegan option.
  • Fresh rosemary Can substitute with thyme or sage.
  • Honey For drizzling on top before serving.
  • Crackers For serving.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the sheet of puff pastry on a lightly floured surface until it’s smooth and thin.
  2. Place the wheel of Brie in the center of the rolled-out pastry. Spoon the fig jam generously over the top of the cheese, spreading it evenly.
  3. Sprinkle the chopped walnuts over the jam.
  4. Carefully fold the edges of the puff pastry up over the Brie, sealing it completely. Flip the wrapped Brie seam-side down onto a lined baking sheet.
  5. Brush the wrapped pastry with the beaten egg and score a leaf pattern on top.
  6. Bake for about 25 to 30 minutes until the pastry is deep golden brown.
  7. Remove from the oven, drizzle with honey, garnish with rosemary, and serve warm with crackers.

Notes

Ensure to preheat the oven for perfect pastry texture. Store leftover Baked Brie in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze unbaked for 2 months.
