  • 1/2 cup butter, sliced Use plant-based butter for dairy-free option.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F. Prepare an 8×8 baking dish and have aluminum foil ready for covering.
  2. In the baking dish, combine the rice, French onion soup, and beef broth, stirring just once to spread the rice through the liquids.
  3. Arrange the butter slices evenly over the rice mixture.
Baking
  1. Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes to allow the rice to steam.
  2. After 25 minutes, uncover the dish and bake for an additional 20 to 25 minutes until the rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
Serving
  1. Once done, fluff the rice gently with a fork and serve warm as a side to your main dish.
Storing
  1. Cool leftover rice, place in an airtight container, and refrigerate within two hours. Consume within 3-4 days.

Notes

Avoid using instant rice as it cooks too quickly. Cover the dish tightly for the first baking phase to maintain steam for proper cooking.
