Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon. Whisk until well blended and set aside.
- Layer half of the thick bread slices in the greased baking dish. Spread half of the cream cheese evenly over the bread, then add half of the sliced strawberries on top.
- Repeat the layering process with the remaining bread, followed by the remaining cream cheese and strawberries.
Assembly and Baking
- Pour the prepared egg mixture evenly over the layered bread and filling, ensuring all bread is well soaked.
- In a separate bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and brown sugar. Mix until crumbly and sprinkle over the top of the French toast bake.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden and the center is set. Cover with foil if it browns too quickly.
- Allow to cool slightly before slicing and serve warm.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Freeze individual portions for up to 3 months. Reheat in the oven at 350°F until warm or use a microwave with a damp paper towel.
