  • 2 tsp chai spice blend Provides warming flavors.
  • 1.5 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup whole milk Can substitute with almond or oat milk.
  • 2 large eggs Can replace with egg replacer if avoiding eggs.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted Can use coconut oil for a different flavor.
  • 1 tbsp pure vanilla extract
Glaze
  • 1 cup powdered sugar For glazing the loaf.
  • 2 tbsp milk Use for thinning the glaze.
  • 1/2 tsp chai spice blend For added flavor in the glaze.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan thoroughly.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the sugar, milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla until smooth.
Combining Ingredients
  1. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, chai spice, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture gently until combined.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  2. Bake for 50 to 55 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
  3. If the loaf browns too quickly, tent it with foil after 35 minutes.
Cooling and Glazing
  1. Allow the loaf to cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and chai spice for the glaze.
  3. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled loaf before slicing.

Notes

Store at room temperature for up to four days or freeze for longer storage. Can reheat gently in the microwave or toaster oven.
