Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
- Cut in the cold, cubed butter into the dry mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add the buttermilk and stir gently until just combined; be careful not to overmix.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently 3-4 times. Roll out to about 1-inch thickness.
- Use a biscuit cutter to cut out biscuits and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly and serve warm.
Notes
Store biscuits in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For longer storage, freeze in a single layer and transfer to a freezer bag, lasting about 2 months.
