Preparation
- In a medium bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Mix well to evenly distribute the salt.
- Add the yeast mixture and olive oil into the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
- Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
Baking
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Once risen, punch down the dough and spread it onto a greased baking sheet.
- Dimple the surface, add sliced jalapenos and shredded cheddar cheese, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with sea salt.
- Allow the dough to rise again for another 20-30 minutes.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and cool slightly on a wire rack before serving warm.
Notes
Store leftovers in the fridge for 2-3 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in the oven or microwave for best results.
