Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, remove it from the heat and stir in the brown sugar until smooth.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture and mix until smooth.
Mixing
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to your wet mixture and stir until just combined.
- Gently fold in the diced apples and chopped nuts, if using them.
Baking
- Pour the batter into your prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
- Drizzle caramel sauce over the batter and swirl it in gently with a knife.
- Place the pan in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes. Use a toothpick to check doneness.
Serving
- Allow the blondies to cool completely before cutting them into squares.
- Serve them plain or with a scoop of ice cream.
