  • 1 large loaf French bread Use a buttery French bread for best results.
  • 2 cups cooked, breaded chicken cutlet, chopped Store-bought frozen cutlets can be used for convenience.
  • 1.5 cups marinara sauce Choose your favorite marinara brand or homemade.
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese You can substitute with provolone or dairy-free cheese.
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted Can substitute with olive oil for a lighter option.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced Fresh garlic for the best flavor.
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan Adds a rich cheesy flavor.
  • to taste fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish Can be substituted with basil or oregano.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  2. Slice the loaf of French bread in half lengthwise and scoop out some of the soft interior from both halves.
  3. In a bowl, whisk the melted butter and minced garlic together and brush it over the cut sides of the bread.
  4. Layer the chopped breaded chicken into the hollowed-out bread halves.
  5. Top with marinara sauce and sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
Baking
  1. Place the stuffed bread halves on a baking sheet and bake for 15 to 18 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serving
  1. Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, then slice and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Avoid overstuffing the bread and let ingredients come to room temperature before baking for even cooking.
