Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
- Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes. Beat in the eggs one at a time.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and baking soda. Gradually add to the creamed mixture, alternating with sour cream until just combined.
- Gently fold in the diced pears.
Assembly
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan and smooth evenly.
- Sprinkle half of the streusel topping over the batter.
- Add the remaining batter, then sprinkle the rest of the streusel topping.
Baking
- Bake for 45-50 minutes. Check for doneness with a toothpick; it should come out clean.
- Remove from oven and let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Serving
- Slice and serve, optionally with a fresh fruit salad, ice cream, or whipped cream.
