Preparation
- Start by brewing the coffee strong so it can hold up to the cream and liqueur.
- In a small bowl, beat the cold heavy cream with the powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
Warming and Sweetening
- Warm two heatproof mugs or glasses by rinsing them with hot water, then dry them well.
- Divide the brown sugar between the mugs, and pour in the hot coffee. Stir until the sugar fully dissolves.
Mixing
- Add the Irish cream liqueur to each mug. If desired, add the Irish whiskey too. Stir gently.
Serving
- Gently spoon the softly whipped cream over the back of a spoon held just above the drink.
- Dust the top with cinnamon and add grated chocolate or cocoa powder if you like. Tuck in a cinnamon stick.
- Serve right away while the coffee is still hot and the cream is fresh.
