Ingredients
Method
Preparation
- Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium-low heat.
- Spread the softened butter evenly over one side of each slice of bread.
Building the Sandwich
- Place 4 slices of bread on a clean work surface with the unbuttered side facing up.
- Layer the sliced brie over each slice.
- Add a generous spoonful of cranberry sauce on top of the brie.
- Drizzle honey on top of the cranberry sauce.
- Sprinkle toasted walnuts over the cranberry sauce layer.
- Add a small handful of arugula to each sandwich.
Cooking
- Top each sandwich with another slice of bread, buttered side facing out.
- Press gently so everything stays in place and place sandwiches in the heated skillet.
- Cook for 3 to 4 minutes per side, pressing down gently with a spatula.
- Maintain medium-low heat so the bread turns golden brown while the brie melts.
Serving
- Once the sandwiches are crisp and the cheese is fully melted, move them to a cutting board.
- Let them rest for 1 to 2 minutes, then slice each one in half.
- Serve warm, optionally adding a little extra honey on top.
Notes
This recipe is perfect for chilly nights, quick lunches, or cozy brunches. Tips for best results include allowing cheese to warm slightly for easier slicing, avoiding too high heat during cooking, and letting the sandwiches rest before slicing to keep fillings intact.
