Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground beef Choose 80/20 blend for optimal moisture.
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs Can substitute with gluten-free breadcrumbs.
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese Alternatives can include shredded cheddar cheese.
  • 1/4 cup ketchup Homemade ketchup can be used for fresher taste.
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 ea egg Used for binding.
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup olives Used for decoration, mimicking fingernails.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, add the ground beef, breadcrumbs, mozzarella cheese, ketchup, chopped onion, egg, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined.
  3. Shape the meat mixture into the form of a skeleton hand on your lined baking sheet, tapering the fingers.
  4. Place the olives at the ends of each finger.
Cooking
  1. Bake the meatloaf for 45-55 minutes until it reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (70°C).
  2. Let the meatloaf cool for about 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Avoid overmixing the meat mixture to keep the texture tender. Use a meat thermometer for accurate cooking, and allow the meatloaf to rest before slicing.
