Method
Preparation
- In a medium bowl, combine thawed and squeezed dry spinach with crumbled feta cheese, softened cream cheese, minced garlic, and egg. Stir until creamy and well mixed.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F. Lay a sheet of phyllo dough flat, brush with melted butter, then layer another sheet on top and brush with butter again. Slice the layered sheets into 3 equal strips.
Filling and Folding
- Take one strip of phyllo, place a spoonful of the filling at the bottom edge, and fold to form a triangle. Continue folding in a flag-like manner until the top is reached. Repeat for all strips and filling.
Baking
- Place each triangle on a lined baking sheet, brush the tops with more melted butter, and bake for 18 to 20 minutes until golden and crispy.
Serving
- Remove from the oven, let cool briefly, and serve warm for the best flavor.
Storage
- Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze unbaked triangles for up to 2 months.
- To reheat, use the oven at 350°F until warmed through and crisp.
Notes
Make sure to keep unused phyllo sheets covered during preparation to avoid drying out. Customize the filling with fresh herbs or different cheeses as desired.
