  • 1 pound ground turkey Lean turkey for a healthier option
  • 2 slices Swiss cheese Melted cheese for added flavor
  • 2 pieces burger buns Soft, preferably toasted

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat and add a little cooking oil to coat the bottom.
  2. Divide the ground turkey into two equal portions and form into patties.
  3. Season both sides of the patties with salt and pepper.
Cooking
  1. Place the patties in the skillet and smash them down with a spatula to create a crust. Cook for about 3–4 minutes.
  2. Flip the patties and cook for another 3–4 minutes. In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty to melt.
  3. Toast the burger buns in the skillet for 1–2 minutes until golden brown.
Assembly
  1. Place the cooked turkey patties onto the toasted buns and add lettuce, tomato, and any additional toppings.
  2. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

Leftover burgers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months. Reheat on the stovetop or microwave.
