Preparation
- Start by placing the chicken wings directly into your slow cooker. Make sure they are evenly distributed for consistent cooking.
- In a separate bowl, combine the Dr Pepper, BBQ sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until everything is fully integrated.
- Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken wings in the slow cooker. Make sure all wings are well-coated for the best flavor.
Cooking
- Cover the slow cooker and set it to cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
- Once the cooking time is nearing completion, preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C), preparing for that final crispy touch.
Finishing
- When the wings are fully cooked, transfer them to a baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes until they are golden and crispy.
- Once done, take them out of the oven and serve hot.
Notes
Store leftover wings in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months. For reheating, use low heat to prevent drying out.
