  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Almond flour can be a low-carb option.
  • 1 cup brown sugar Coconut sugar can be used as a healthier alternative.
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon Nutmeg can be used as a warm spice alternative.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted Coconut oil or vegetable oil can be substituted for a dairy-free version.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your baking dish.
  2. Place the sliced apples evenly in the greased baking dish.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt until well blended.
  4. Pour the melted butter into the dry ingredient mixture and stir until it resembles wet sand.
  5. Sprinkle the oat mixture evenly over the sliced apples.
  6. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
  7. Allow the apple crisp to cool slightly before serving, ideally warm with a scoop of ice cream.

Notes

Store in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. Can be frozen for up to 3 months before baking. Reheat at 350°F (175°C) for 10-15 minutes.
