Frosting Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese Can swap with vanilla yogurt.
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon milk For frosting consistency.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, granulated sugar, active dry yeast, and salt. Stir until evenly mixed.
  2. In a small saucepan, gently heat 1 cup of milk, 1/4 cup of water, and 1/4 cup of unsalted butter until warm but not boiling. Remove from heat.
  3. Stir the warm liquid into the flour mixture. Then, add the 2 large eggs, mixing until well incorporated.
  4. Gradually stir in the remaining flour until a soft dough forms.
  5. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  6. Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm spot until doubled, about 1 hour.
Rolling and Baking
  1. Punch down the risen dough. Roll it out into a rectangle and spread with softened butter.
  2. Sprinkle the cinnamon and brown sugar evenly over the surface, then roll the dough tightly into a log.
  3. Slice the log into individual rolls and place them in a greased baking pan.
  4. Cover and let the rolls rise again for about 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
Frosting
  1. While the rolls are baking, mix powdered sugar, cream cheese, vanilla extract, and 1 tablespoon of milk until smooth.
  2. Once the rolls are slightly cooled, spread the frosting generously over them.

Notes

These rolls can be customized with fillings like chocolate chips or nuts. Avoid rushing the rising times for best results.
