Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal Look for a brand that feels light and crispy for best texture.
  • 4 cups mini marshmallows Choose soft and fluffy marshmallows for best results.
  • 4 tablespoons butter Can substitute with coconut oil for a dairy-free option.
  • green food coloring Use gel food coloring for a richer color if desired.
  • black icing Can be swapped with melted dark chocolate.
  • candy eyes Chocolate chips can be used as an alternative.

Method

Preparation
  1. Begin by greasing a 9x13 inch pan to prevent sticking.
  2. In a large pot, melt the butter over low heat, making sure it doesn’t brown.
  3. Once the butter is melted, stir in the mini marshmallows and mix continuously until fully melted and smooth, about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Remove the pot from heat and mix in the green food coloring until the desired color is achieved.
  5. Gently fold in the Rice Krispies until they are well coated with the marshmallow mixture.
  6. Transfer the mixture to the greased pan and use a greased spatula to press it down gently, making sure it remains light and fluffy.
  7. Allow the mixture to cool completely before cutting it into rectangles.
  8. Once cooled, use black icing to create hair and mouth details, attaching candy eyes with a dab of icing.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. Can be frozen for up to 3 months. Reheat in the microwave for 10-15 seconds if desired.
