Preparation
- Begin by greasing a 9x13 inch pan to prevent sticking.
- In a large pot, melt the butter over low heat, making sure it doesn’t brown.
- Once the butter is melted, stir in the mini marshmallows and mix continuously until fully melted and smooth, about 3-5 minutes.
- Remove the pot from heat and mix in the green food coloring until the desired color is achieved.
- Gently fold in the Rice Krispies until they are well coated with the marshmallow mixture.
- Transfer the mixture to the greased pan and use a greased spatula to press it down gently, making sure it remains light and fluffy.
- Allow the mixture to cool completely before cutting it into rectangles.
- Once cooled, use black icing to create hair and mouth details, attaching candy eyes with a dab of icing.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. Can be frozen for up to 3 months. Reheat in the microwave for 10-15 seconds if desired.
