Method
Preparation
- If desired, brush the tops of the slider buns with melted butter mixed with a drop of green food coloring and let them dry.
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently to season evenly.
- Shape the beef mixture into 12 patties, slightly larger than the buns.
Cooking
- Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
- Cook the patties for 3 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through (160°F/71°C).
- In the last minute, place a half slice of American cheese on each patty and cover the pan to melt.
Assembly
- Assemble each slider with a bottom bun, a few leaves of lettuce, a cheesy patty, ketchup, and a tinted top bun.
- Insert two small pretzel stick pieces into each side of the bun for bolts.
Serving
- Serve immediately while warm and melty. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
Notes
For variations, consider using ground turkey or chicken, different types of cheese, or alternate toppings like mayo or mustard. Watch for overcooking patties to maintain juiciness.
