Ingredients

For the Cranberry Syrup
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 3/4 cup sugar Can be substituted with honey or maple syrup.
  • 1 1/2 cups cranberries, fresh or frozen Ensure they are firm and shiny; frozen berries do not require thawing.
For the Drink
  • 52 oz lemonade, homemade or store-bought Diet lemonade or sparkling water can be used as alternatives.

Method

Make the Cranberry Syrup
  1. Combine the water, sugar, and cranberries in a small pot over medium heat. Stir occasionally and let the mixture simmer for about 2 minutes until the sugar dissolves and the cranberries burst.
Let the Flavor Steep
  1. Remove the pot from heat and let the syrup steep for 5 minutes to deepen the flavor and color.
Blend Until Smooth
  1. Use an immersion blender to blend the mixture until smooth. Be cautious if using a regular blender with warm ingredients.
Strain and Mix With Lemonade
  1. Strain the syrup if preferred, then pour it into a pitcher with the lemonade. Stir well and refrigerate until cold.
Chill and Serve
  1. Once cold, stir the lemonade again before pouring it over ice in glasses and serving immediately.

Notes

Best served cold. Store in an airtight container for 5-7 days. Can freeze cranberry syrup separately for up to 2 months.
