Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips Use high-quality chocolate with at least 60% cocoa content.
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder Can substitute with Dutch-processed cocoa for a smoother taste.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter Can be replaced with coconut oil for a dairy-free option.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar Brown sugar can be used for a richer flavor and softer texture.
  • 2 large eggs Or substitute with flaxseed meal and water for a vegan option.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour For gluten-free, use almond flour or a gluten-free blend.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x9 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine unsalted butter and dark chocolate chips. Stir until melted and smooth, then let cool slightly.
  3. Stir in the granulated sugar until well combined. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Finally, stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together cocoa powder, all-purpose flour, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add the dry mixture to the chocolate mixture, stirring until just combined.
  5. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes. The brownies are done when a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs.
  7. Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
