  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened to room temperature Let cream cheese reach room temperature for better mixing.
  • 8 oz frozen whipped topping, thawed Use Cool Whip or similar product.
  • 1/2 cup milk, plus more if needed Add slowly to reach desired texture.
  • 1/3 cup orange, black, and purple Halloween sprinkles, divided Use additional sprinkles for garnishing.
To Serve
  • Graham crackers, animal crackers, vanilla wafers, or pretzels These dippers provide a sweet-salty mix.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and spread the dry cake mix on a rimmed baking sheet in an even layer. Bake for 5 to 6 minutes until a thermometer reads 165°F (74°C). Let it cool completely, about 20 minutes.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and thawed whipped topping together using a hand mixer until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add the cooled cake mix and half of the milk, then beat until combined. Gradually add the remaining milk until the dip reaches your desired consistency.
  4. Gently fold in half of the Halloween sprinkles by hand.
Serving
  1. Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and top with the remaining sprinkles. Serve cold with your choice of dippers.
  2. If not serving immediately, cover and refrigerate. The dip keeps fresh for up to 1 week.

Notes

For best results, avoid skipping the heat-treatment step for the cake mix. Always soften cream cheese at room temperature and ensure whipped topping is thawed. Adjust milk slowly for desired consistency and fold in sprinkles gently to preserve color.
