Ingredients

For the White Hot Chocolate
  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 8 oz white chocolate, chopped Use quality white chocolate containing cocoa butter for best results.
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt Balances the sweetness.
For Topping
  • 8 large marshmallows Press mini chocolate chips into these to create eyes.
  • mini chocolate chips, for ghost faces
  • whipped cream, for topping (optional) Adds extra creaminess.

Method

Preparation
  1. Press two mini chocolate chips into one side of each marshmallow to create ghost eyes. Set aside.
  2. Pour the whole milk into a saucepan and warm it over medium-low heat until steam rises and small bubbles form around the edges, about 5-6 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and add the chopped white chocolate. Whisk gently until melted and smooth.
  4. Whisk in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.
  5. Pour the white hot chocolate into mugs and float two marshmallow ghosts on top of each.
  6. Add a dollop of whipped cream if desired and serve immediately.

Notes

Store any leftover hot chocolate in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. The texture may thicken as it cools. Avoid freezing as it may separate upon thawing. Reheat gently to restore creamy consistency.
