Creamy Cheese Base
  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened Use full-fat for best texture.
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped green onion Can substitute with chives or parsley.
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce Can substitute with soy sauce for vegetarian option.
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder Alternatively, use minced fresh garlic.
  • 1/4 tsp salt
Mummy Wrapping
  • 8 oz string cheese or mozzarella, sliced into thin strips Can use provolone or Swiss cheese as alternatives.
  • 2 small pieces black olive, for eyes
Serving
  • Crackers, for serving Pairs well with a variety of crackers.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy.
  2. Add shredded sharp cheddar, chopped green onions, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and salt. Mix until well combined.
Shape and Chill
  1. Shape the cheese mixture into an oval mound using plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
Mummy Wrap Preparation
  1. Remove from the refrigerator, unwrap, and place on a serving board.
  2. Drape mozzarella strips over the cheese ball in a criss-cross pattern, leaving a gap for the face.
Finishing Touches
  1. Press black olives into the gap for mummy eyes.
  2. Serve immediately with crackers or refrigerate for up to 3 days, bringing to room temperature before serving.

Store tightly wrapped in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months. Remember to serve cool or slightly warmed.
