Method
Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and prepare a baking sheet with foil, placing a wire rack on top.
- Pat the chicken drumettes dry with paper towels to ensure crispy skin.
- In a large bowl, toss the wings with baking powder, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder until evenly coated.
Baking
- Place wings in a single layer on the wire rack, ensuring they don’t touch, and bake for 20 minutes.
- Flip the wings and bake for another 20 to 25 minutes until they are golden brown and crispy.
Saucing
- While the wings are baking, whisk together hot sauce, melted butter, and honey in a large bowl.
- When wings are done, toss them in the hot sauce mixture until well coated, then return to the rack and bake for an additional 3 to 5 minutes to set the sauce.
Serving
- Serve the wings hot from the oven. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Notes
Ensure wings are fully dried before seasoning. Do not overcrowd the baking rack. For crispy wings, always check the internal temperature for doneness.
