Preparation
  1. Mix Dry Ingredients: Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.
  2. Cream Butter and Sugar: In a mixer, cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
  3. Add Egg and Extracts: Beat in the egg, almond extract, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Form Dough and Chill: Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until a soft dough forms. Divide the dough into two balls, flatten into discs, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  5. Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
Baking
  1. Roll and Cut Shapes: On a lightly floured surface, roll the chilled dough to about 1/4 inch thickness, cut into skeleton shapes, and place on prepared baking sheets.
  2. Bake and Cool: Bake for 9 to 11 minutes until just set. Allow to cool completely on a wire rack.
Icing
  1. Prepare Icing: Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and corn syrup until smooth and pipeable.
