Ingredients
  

Biscuit Base
  • 2 cans refrigerated biscuit dough Look for brands with minimal preservatives.
Fillings
  • 6 pcs hot dogs (or mini sausages) Can substitute with turkey or veggie sausages.
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce May also use ketchup or mustard.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Pepper jack cheese can be used for spice.
Decorative Topping
  • as needed black sesame seeds or nori Used to create faces on the biscuits.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Open the cans of refrigerated biscuit dough and flatten each biscuit into a circle about 1/4 inch thick.
  3. Carefully cut jack-o-lantern face shapes out of half of the biscuit circles.
Assembly
  1. On the whole biscuit circles, place a piece of hot dog, add a spoonful of BBQ sauce, and top with shredded cheese.
  2. Top each filled biscuit with a face-cut-out biscuit and press the edges together firmly to seal.
Baking
  1. Place the sealed biscuits on the lined baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown.
  2. Let them cool slightly before serving warm.

Notes

Great for potlucks or Halloween parties! Store leftovers in the fridge for 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
