  • 1 medium banana Ripe for added sweetness; can substitute with avocado.
  • 1 cup almond milk Can use any milk of choice, including dairy.
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup Optional for added sweetness.
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds Optional, but provides additional nutrition.
  • as needed Ice cubes Optional for a chilled smoothie.

Preparation
  1. Gather all your ingredients: fresh blackberries, spinach, a ripe banana, almond milk, and any optional ingredients.
  2. Combine blackberries, spinach, banana, almond milk, and optional ingredients in a blender.
  3. Blend on high speed until smooth, about 30 to 45 seconds, stopping to scrape down the sides if needed.
  4. If desired, add ice cubes and blend again until the mixture is thick and refreshing.
  5. Pour into a glass and garnish with blackberries or chia seeds if desired.
  6. Clean the blender immediately after use for easy maintenance.

Notes

Store leftovers in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 1 day, or freeze for 2-3 months. Can be warmed gently if desired.
