For the Brownie Base
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt Use plain, full-fat or low-fat varieties
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder Brings a deep chocolate flavor
  • 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup Natural sweetener for moisture and flavor
  • 1/4 cup almond flour Can be substituted with oat or all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder Helps the brownies rise
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt Balances sweetness
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract Optional flavor enhancement
  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips Optional, for added texture

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, honey or maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth.
  3. Add cocoa powder, almond flour, baking powder, and salt to the bowl. Mix until no dry spots remain.
  4. Fold in dark chocolate chips if using.
  5. Pour the brownie mixture into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes. Check for doneness with a toothpick; it should come out with a few moist crumbs.
  7. Let the brownies cool in the pan before cutting into squares.

Notes

These brownies can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one week or frozen for up to three months. Reheat in the microwave for 15-20 seconds before serving.
