  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning Feel free to use fresh herbs.
  • Salt and pepper to taste Add gradually for best flavor.

  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, and bell pepper; sauté until tender, about 5 to 7 minutes.
  3. Introduce the beef Italian sausage into the skillet and break apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and no longer pink, about 7 to 10 minutes.
  4. Stir in the diced tomatoes and Italian seasoning. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Allow the mixture to simmer on low for about 10 minutes to meld flavors.
  6. Garnish with fresh basil if desired. Serve hot.

Notes

Best served with garlic bread or a green salad. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, or freeze for about 3 months.
