Homestyle Crab and Shrimp Seafood Lasagna

Ingredients
  

Pasta and Sauce
  • 9 pieces lasagna noodles Cook according to package instructions.
  • 2 cups marinara sauce Can use homemade or store-bought.
Seafood and Cheese
  • 1 pound crab meat Fresh lump crab meat is preferred.
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined Use fresh or frozen shrimp.
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese Can substitute with cottage cheese.
  • 3 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded Use part-skim for a lighter option.
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Seasonings
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • to taste Salt and pepper Adjust according to preference.
  • Fresh parsley for garnish Chopped.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine crab meat, shrimp, ricotta cheese, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix until well blended.
Layering
  1. Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a lasagna dish.
  2. Place three lasagna noodles on top, followed by half of the seafood mixture, half of the mozzarella cheese, and another layer of marinara sauce.
  3. Repeat the layering process with three more noodles, the remaining seafood mixture, the rest of the marinara sauce, and half of the remaining mozzarella cheese.
  4. Finish with a final layer of noodles, the remaining marinara, and top with the rest of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Cover with foil.
Baking
  1. Bake for 25 minutes, then remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  2. Once done, remove from oven and let cool slightly. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

This dish freezes well; wrap tightly for up to 3 months. Reheat individually on the stovetop or microwave.
