Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 pieces bone-in pork chops Look for bone-in cuts that have good marbling.
  • 1/4 cup honey Can substitute with maple syrup if needed.
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce Tamari or coconut aminos can be used for gluten-free.
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced Fresh garlic for best flavor; can be substituted with garlic powder.
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar White wine vinegar is a suitable alternative.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil Any neutral cooking oil can be used.
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • to taste salt and pepper Season to your preference.
  • to garnish green onions Chopped fresh parsley can be used instead.

Method

Preparation
  1. Season the pork chops with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat and sear the pork chops for about 4-5 minutes each side until golden brown and cooked to an internal temperature of 145°F. Remove from skillet.
  3. In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, rice vinegar, and grated ginger, and simmer for 2-3 minutes until it thickens slightly.
  4. Return the pork chops to the skillet, spooning the glaze over them to coat well and let sit for another minute.
  5. Garnish the glazed pork chops with fresh green onions before serving.

Notes

Ensure not to overcook the pork chops; use a meat thermometer. Allow glaze to simmer to thicken for better adherence to the pork.
