Preparation
- Season the ribeye steak generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
- In a skillet over medium-high heat, add 2 tablespoons of butter and allow it to melt until bubbly.
Cooking
- Add the seasoned ribeye steak to the skillet and cook undisturbed for about 4 to 5 minutes.
- Flip the steak and cook for an additional 4 to 5 minutes, or until it reaches desired doneness.
- Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest on a cutting board for at least 5 minutes.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and sliced mushrooms. Sauté for about 5 to 7 minutes until browned and tender.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute, being careful not to burn it.
- Slice the rested steak and serve topped with the sautéed garlic butter mushrooms, garnished with fresh herbs.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3 to 4 days. Cooked steak can be frozen for up to 3 months. Reheat in a skillet or microwave, adding a splash of broth to retain moisture.
