Ingredients
Method
Preparation
- Put everything except the vodka into a medium saucepan.
- Bring it to a gentle simmer. Cover the pan and let it simmer for 5 minutes, adjusting the heat to prevent boiling.
Combining
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the vodka immediately.
Steeping
- Cover the pan and let the mixture steep at room temperature for at least 2 hours, or up to 24 hours.
Straining
- Strain the liquid through a fine sieve or cheesecloth to remove spice bits, citrus peel, and vanilla pod.
Bottling
- Pour the strained liqueur into sterilized bottles and seal them tightly.
- Store sealed bottles at room temperature for up to 1 year or in the refrigerator after opening for up to 1 month.
Notes
Serve hot or chilled. If the flavor seems too strong, you can dilute it a little before serving. Avoid boiling the mixture and adding vodka while still hot. Taste before bottling, steep no longer than 24 hours.
