Ingredients

For the fish
  • 4 fillets Tilapia fillets (fresh or thawed) Use frozen fillets if necessary, but thaw and pat them dry for best results.
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil or melted butter Helps to prevent drying out.
  • 1/2 lemon Lemon juice For added flavor; use the whole lemon for a stronger lemon hit.
  • Salt Optional, depending on your seasoning blend.
  • Lemon pepper seasoning Adjust the amount based on saltiness.
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder or minced garlic For additional flavor.
  • Paprika (optional) For warmth and color.
  • Parsley (for serving) Optional fresh garnish.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Line a baking dish or sheet pan with foil or parchment paper and lightly oil the surface.
  3. Pat your tilapia fillets dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
  4. Place the fillets in the prepared dish, leaving some space between them.
  5. Drizzle the fillets with olive oil or melted butter.
  6. Sprinkle the lemon pepper seasoning, garlic, and salt (if needed) over the top.
  7. Squeeze lemon juice over everything and place lemon slices on top if desired.
Cooking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10 to 14 minutes, checking at 10 minutes.
  2. The fish is done when it flakes easily with a fork and looks opaque.
  3. For added color, broil for 1 to 2 minutes at the end, watching closely.
Serving
  1. Let the fillets rest for a couple of minutes before serving.
  2. Serve warm with chosen sides.

Notes

For best results, thaw and dry the fish before cooking. Pair with sides like mashed potatoes, asparagus, or salads. Leftovers can be used in tacos.
