  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Chocolate Chips
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips High-quality chocolate chips are recommended.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare baking sheets by leaving them ungreased or lining them with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter with granulated and brown sugars until smooth and light, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, adding the vanilla extract, and mix until well blended.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture into the creamed mixture and stir until just incorporated.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
Baking
  1. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared cookie sheets, leaving enough space between each scoop.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 9 to 11 minutes, or until the edges start to turn golden brown.
  3. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

These cookies can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Freeze the dough for up to three months, and reheat them in the microwave or oven as desired.
