Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare baking sheets by leaving them ungreased or lining them with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter with granulated and brown sugars until smooth and light, about 2-3 minutes.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, adding the vanilla extract, and mix until well blended.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture into the creamed mixture and stir until just incorporated.
- Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
Baking
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared cookie sheets, leaving enough space between each scoop.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 9 to 11 minutes, or until the edges start to turn golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
These cookies can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Freeze the dough for up to three months, and reheat them in the microwave or oven as desired.
