Ingredients

Filling
  • 1 lb ground pork breakfast sausage Mild or hot based on preference.
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened Can use reduced-fat cream cheese for a lighter option.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (sharp cheddar recommended) Can substitute with Monterey Jack or pepper Jack for variety.
Crescent Dough
  • 16 oz crescent roll dough Can use crescent dough sheets if preferred.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the sausage until no pink remains, draining excess grease.
  3. Stir in the softened cream cheese until creamy, then let it cool for about 15 minutes before folding in the shredded cheese.
Assembly
  1. Unroll the crescent dough, separate it into triangles, and cut each triangle in half lengthwise.
  2. Place about 1 teaspoon of filling on the thick end of each piece, roll towards the tip, and place seam side down on the prepared baking sheet.
Baking
  1. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown, checking at 10 minutes.
Serving and Storing
  1. Serve rolls warm with a dipping sauce if desired and refrigerate any leftovers in an airtight container.
  2. For best texture, reheat in the oven or air fryer.

Notes

These rolls can be made ahead by preparing the filling a day early. They are versatile and can be served as appetizers, snacks, or a simple meal. Pair with a fresh salad or dipping sauce for balance.
