Preparation
- Pat the steak tips dry with paper towels, then season generously on all sides with steak seasoning.
Cooking
- Heat a cast iron skillet over high heat and add olive oil. Allow the oil to shimmer and smoke.
- Add steak tips to the pan in a single layer and sear for 2 to 3 minutes without moving.
- Flip the steak tips and sear the opposite side for another 2 to 3 minutes. Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness, aiming for 130°F for medium-rare.
- In the last minute, add butter to the pan and baste the steak tips with the melted butter.
- Remove steak tips from skillet and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days or frozen for about 3 months. Reheat on the stovetop for best results.
