  • 1 cup sourdough discard Ensure it's at room temperature for best results.
  • 1/4 cup olive oil You can substitute with melted butter, coconut oil, or avocado oil.
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt Feel free to use flavored salts.
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Substitutable with whole wheat or gluten-free flour.
Optional seasonings
  • garlic powder or mixed herbs or sesame seeds Customize as per your taste.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sourdough discard, olive oil, sea salt, and any optional seasonings you desire. Mix until well incorporated.
  3. Gradually add the flour to the mixture, stirring until a cohesive dough forms.
  4. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/8 inch thick.
  5. Cut the dough into desired shapes and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. If desired, sprinkle additional sea salt on top of the cut crackers.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the crackers are golden brown and crisp.
  2. Remove from the oven and let the crackers cool on a wire rack.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Freeze the unbaked cracker dough for up to three months.
