  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined Look for firm, fresh shrimp, preferably wild-caught.
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning Adds spice and flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Can substitute with avocado oil.
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice Fresh lime juice is recommended.
For serving
  • 8 small corn or flour tortillas Warm them before serving.
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage Provides crunch.
  • 1/2 cup chopped tomatoes Fresh tomatoes are best.
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro Adds freshness.
  • 1 avocado, sliced For creamy texture.
  • lime wedges For serving.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, toss the shrimp with Cajun seasoning, olive oil, and lime juice. Ensure that each shrimp is well coated. Allow them to marinate for 15-20 minutes.
  2. While the shrimp marinate, preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
Cooking
  1. Once the grill is hot, place the marinated shrimp on it. Grill for 2-3 minutes on each side until they are opaque.
  2. As the shrimp cooks, warm your tortillas on the grill or in a skillet.
Assembly
  1. Once the shrimp and tortillas are ready, begin assembling your tacos. Place a few pieces of grilled shrimp on each tortilla, then add shredded cabbage, chopped tomatoes, cilantro, and sliced avocado.
Serving
  1. Serve the tacos immediately with lime wedges on the side, using a squeeze of lime over the tacos for added freshness.

Notes

These tacos are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. You can freeze marinated shrimp for up to 2 months. Reheat gently to avoid overcooking.
