Preparation
- Carefully halve each egg lengthwise and gently scoop the yolks into a bowl. Arrange the empty whites on a serving platter.
Make the Filling
- Mash the yolks in the bowl along with the mayonnaise, mustard, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy.
Color the Web
- In a small bowl, mix a tiny amount of mayonnaise with black food coloring until it becomes pourable.
Create the Spider Web Design
- Using a piping bag or squeeze bottle, draw a spiral across the top of each filled egg from the center outward.
Finish the Design
- Take a toothpick and drag it from the center of the spiral outward to create the look of a spider web.
Chill and Serve
- Place the deviled eggs in the refrigerator to chill until ready to serve.
Notes
Store leftover deviled eggs in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Freezing is not recommended, as texture will change significantly.
