Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 12 whole hard-boiled eggs Use freshest eggs available.
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise Greek yogurt can be used for a healthier twist.
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard Yellow mustard can be used for a milder flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon paprika Cayenne pepper can be substituted for some heat.
  • to taste salt and pepper Season to preference.
  • 1 small can black olives (sliced for legs) Can substitute with crumbled bacon.
  • a few fresh chives Dill can be used instead for a different flavor.

Method

Preparation
  1. Begin by halving the hard-boiled eggs lengthwise. Gently scoop the yolks into a bowl while arranging the egg whites on a platter.
  2. In the bowl with the yolks, add the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper. Mash the mixture together until it reaches a smooth and creamy consistency.
  3. Using a piping bag or a spoon, carefully fill the hollowed egg whites with the yolk mixture, ensuring an even distribution.
  4. Once all the eggs are filled, gently sprinkle paprika over each one to add flavor and enhance visual appeal.
  5. For the spider legs, cut the black olives into thin strips. You will need 4 strips per egg. Carefully arrange these strips on each side of the filled egg halves.
  6. Add a small piece of olive at the center of each egg to serve as the spider's body or eyes.
  7. Finally, refrigerate the spooky spider deviled eggs until it's time to serve.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Do not freeze. If serving warm, gently reheat at a low temperature.
